Vets for Vets—It’s not just what we do, it’s who we are.

The Veterans Assistance Commission is an agency that is operated by and for veterans. The Commission provides aid to those veterans and their families that reside in our county that may qualify for and need assistance.

Local veteran’s organizations in the county are responsible for forming a Veterans Assistance Commission as is allowed under state statutes.

The Veterans Assistance Commission provides services to the veterans and his/her family that may not be available from other agencies. We as veterans must accept the responsibility and duty to care for those who cannot care for themselves.

The Veterans Assistance Commission provides assistance in filing claims to the Veterans Administration for such benefits as:

  • Service Connected Compensation
  • VA Home Loans
  • VA Healthcare Benefits
  • Educational Benefits
  • Widows/Survivors Benefits
  • GI Insurance Claims
  • Non-Service Connected Pension
  • Transportation to VA Hospital

...or for any other benefits that the veteran or his/her family may be seeking from the Veterans Administration.

The Veterans Assistance Commission works closely with all Veterans Organizations, local, state and federal agencies, to insure the rights, that each veteran is entitled to, have been granted.
