The EMA is responsible for the overall emergency planning functions of the County. EMA addresses the Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery efforts of the local jurisdiction that produces a comprehensive Emergency Management Program.
The LEPC of Macon County produces Facility Specific Emergency Response Plans that deal with specific chemicals used, maintained, stored, and or transported within the jurisdiction.
The Decatur / Macon County Terrorism Task Force was formed in November of 1999. The TTF objectives is to coordinate information and enhance the current capability of the local jurisdiction to Plan, Train, and Respond to an act of Terrorism within Homeland Security Region 15.
